Legacy Talks
When most people hear the word legacy, they think of material possessions. For some, that may be an estate of great wealth or a family business. For others, their entire material legacy will consist of a cardboard box filled with a few personal items and fading photos.
But rich or poor, we each have another legacy we carry deep within our hearts and minds. It’s a priceless and irreplaceable legacy, a legacy of childhood memories, family stories, and lessons learned along our life’s path. Many of us have memories of time spent with a father, mother, or grandparent. Times when they shared their stories and family histories while fishing, playing chess, or sitting around the kitchen table. Stories of adventure, bravery, love, and sacrifice. Many of these stories carry within them great wisdom for the issues our children, and grandchildren will face in the coming years.
You can invite me to speak to your group, community, or fraternal organization. I offer an introductory talk on the subject of legacy and legacy journaling. There is no fee for this talk, but a minimum of 20 attendees is required.
During the talk I cover what a non-material legacy is all about and why it is the most valuable thing we can leave to our children, grandchildren, and generations to come.
Legacy Workshops
Creating Your Legacy Journal
I also offer workshops where you learn how to format your personal legacy journal and how to create and compile content. You also learn about the tools and techniques you will use to help you write the stories of your life. Here are the workshops I offer:
The Single Session Workshop: Legacy Focus Class .
Includes:
o A 3-hour class on how to create a legacy journal around the 10 major categories and 55 subtopics discussed in the book.
o A copy of the workbook edition of my book, Your Life’s Legacy Journal, An Inheritance More Valuable Than Gold.
o A step by step instruction guide for creating a journal at one’s own pace.
Fee: $25 per person. This fee includes the cost of the workbook. A minimum of 10 attendees is required.
The Ten Session Workshop: Legacy Focus Program
Includes:
o Ten 2-hour weekly classes. Each class focuses on one of the 10 major categories discussed in the workbook.
o A copy of the workbook edition of my book, Your Life’s Legacy Journal, An Inheritance More Valuable Than Gold.
Fee: $20 per person for the 1st class This includes the cost of the workbook. Then the price is $10 per person for classes 2-10. A minimum of 12 attendees is required.
The One Year Workshop: A Year of Legacy
Includes:
o Bi-monthly 2-hour classes, for a total of 24 over a period of one year.
o A copy of the workbook edition of my book, Your Life’s Legacy Journal, An Inheritance More Valuable Than Gold.
o The yearlong program combines guided workshops with independent work to create a completed legacy journal covering the 10 major categories and 55 subtopics discussed in the book.
Fee: $20 per person for the 1st class. This fee includes the cost of the workbook and $10 per person for each remaining class. A minimum of 12 attendees is required. If the full course tuition is paid for the 24 classes in advance, the cost is $210. A savings of $40 over the per-class cost.
